P-2 Glycol Dehydration


GLYCOL DEHYDRATION (34 pages and 17 illustrations and graphs) This training manual covers the process of removing water vapor from a natural gas stream and procedures to operate and control the dehydration equipment. It should be used in conjunction with manuals P-4 Contactors and P-5 Strippers. Both Metric and English units of measurement are used so students can work in units with which they are familiar.

  • Applications of dehydration in various applications
  •  Properties of gas; water vapor content, dew point and hydrate formation
  •  Procedures for determining glycol flow and concentration
  • Controls on a dehydration plant

The P-2 Instructor Kit, in addition to the P-2 training manual, includes a CD disc that has all of the photographs, diagrams, illustrations and examples printed in the training manual. Answers to all the test questions in the manual are included.

With a few hours of familiarization with the material a knowledgeable supervisor or other individual with group speaking skills may act as the classroom instructor. Using the Instructor Kit CD the training material can be displayed on a computer connected monitor or screen with a video projector.
